Collagen - What is Collagen?

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body. It plays an essential role in the structure of the skin, cartilage, bones, and connective tissue.

How does it help?

Taking collagen can help repair cartilage in the joints. This is particularly beneficial for people with diseases like osteoarthritis, which involve damage to joint cartilage.
The good news is that collagen is a major component of cartilage. When we ingest whole cartilage in the form of powder, it gets digested and broken down into smaller parts that can be used to produce collagen.

Glucosamine & Chondroitin - What are they?

Both glucosamine and chondroitin are components of cartilage and synovial fluid. In addition to their structural role, glucosamine and chondroitin also have anti-inflammatory properties that help relieve the symptoms of osteoarthritis (OA) and reduce its progression.

How do they help?

They help repair cartilage and balance the creation and destruction ratio of cartilage in osteoarthritis.
Chondroitin works as an anti-inflammatory by inhibiting a protein complex that regulates the inflammatory response. Glucosamine works as an anti-inflammatory by reducing the activity of COX-2 and its inflammatory response.

As a dietary supplement, take one (1) scoop with 12-16 fl oz of water.
